So before starting sorry for my English :) First i want to say that this issue is in my opinion the less interesting BUT some scenes are at the same time the best so far so...
First all the story with Paige's student is, for the moment (i don't know if he'll come back), not very interesting, the boy was reading an egyptian mythology book at the time where he used a spell to reveal his true self and because he had cats in his brain we know the result...However after the charmed ones helped him, the character potential seems better, Aidel telling Paige how he doesn't really know who he is and how magic is changing him, needing Paige's help to figure all this out. I don't know why but since Pat told us that he was planning on introducing a gay character, and after reading the text about his self questioning about his own identity make me think that it could be him, so who knows?
Now, about Prue, I really hate Pat because even if she only appears in one page, that was a damned page! We see her walking alone in the Nexus, crying, then she sit on stairs still crying and we have a closer look to her arm where she has her tatoos. And because Pat is even more evil than Paul, we can read: "One will die and one will rise" without further explanations about how this line appears on her. Prue being my favorite character, this page was really sad and beautiful.

For the part of Cole and Leo: When we were first introduced to Knox Montgomery I really thought that he was evil, I really didn't like him, but then he helped the sisters so I was telling myself that I was too supicious, but in this issue he's a real jerk (but I can understand him a little bit because of his neutral politic). Because of this neutral rule, he doesn't want to help our duo. Cole is angry and Knox send him fire, telling Leo that he can read Cole's heart and that Cole was planning on threatening him to be stabbed on the neck with a pen. Leo tells him that maybe that was not a bad idea and Knox answers : "In your avatar days perhaps you've frighten me Mr.Wyatt.Now? you're a teddy bear in flannel".A real jerk I told you! So he made a deal with them, he will help them if in one month when he will come to the sisters for a favor they'll agree to help him without asking any questions.
The boys came back to the manor and Cole explain that years ago the Source's right hand man was after the ancient athame so he was executed explaining that even the Source was afraid of this weapon because having his soul destroyed is worst that being sent to the wasteland (i would love to learn more about that story!). We learn that Knox knows how to activate the athame:

Leo shows him a piece of the wall were Valen sent the athame after trying to kill Cole and he can deduce that for the moment his is inactivate. The activation ritual is one of blood: of he who would wield the blade (so Valen), the blood of a witch (and we see a dead witch killed by Valen), the blood of an innocent (Valen about to kill an old man), and lastly the blood of a being that straddles the bridge between life and death, one who defies mortality, explaining why they try to kill Cole. So Phoebe asked why they needed a shillelagh and Cole answered that to be able for a very low level demon like Valen to touch the athame without consuming his essence he needed power, and Leo says that demons often use the bad will from corrupting pure magical items as a temporary surge. Logically Piper says that to prevent Valen from activate the athame they just have to protect Cole but he answers that even if they're few, he is not the only one who lives between life and death.

and now i'm warning that i'm going to give the very BIG spoiler:
we can see by night a woman who is colored in grey/white crying on the scene of a car accident. A man is behind her and he tells her that her baby is fine and that her husband is on the way to the hospital to bring her home. Asking what will happen to her (Faith) we see the man she is speaking to, and it's none other than the Angel of Death, and after understanding what happened she agrees to go the afterlife. And here, Pat was really not joking when he was saying that thepoint of this Athame stuff was to raise the stakes for the charmedverse. Valen appears and stabs the Angel, activating the athame because of his blood! However i can't say if the Angel died or not because when he was stab the athame was still inactive and since he's still "alive" in the last panel and seems surrounded by his dark blue wisping power like in styx feet under, maybe he escaped just seriously hurt...However, at the same time his death could explain the cover of issue 4 were we can see Piper surrounded by zombies like hands conséquences of the fact that there's nobody to help the ghosts now.

OMG!!! I'm so amazed... last two pages are perfect! too bad they spoiled us half of the issue -.- If the Angel of Death is really dead that's will change everything in the Charmed-verse.. Prue's page is so sad and full of mystery (one will die and one will rise).. And Aidel may be an interesting version of Billie.. he could be the gay character! I hope so because he seems pretty smart!

One will die and one will rise...I wonder if Cole will become the new angel of Death...

Cole as the Angel of Death? Hmm...not bad. But who will rise?

    Henry (Thursday, 11 December 2014 14:38)

Maybe I'm wrong but what about the Originals? In the first issue Gaxageal said that the Originals will rise and he's mentioned in both issues 2 and 3. I think it would be interesting exploring Originals' story. It has to be a reason if Pat introduced them.. I love how Pat made Mr. Knox so rude and dark!! All the "favor" plot is so mysterious!!

I doubt Cole will become the new Angel of Death if the other one is truly dead.

@Gc That's an interesting thought, but I think that the words "One will die and one will rise" have something to do with why Prue is in tears, as if she knows that something she can't prevent is about to happen. I don't see Prue crying over Death's death.

Loved the issue. I suspect that the deal made with Knox is going to end badly. I definitely see him as a future antagonist.

I have the feeling that the one who will die is Leo and the One who will rise is Cole's father.. Maybe Leo's soul will be destroyed by the Ancient Athame and Cole's father will take his body! I thought that because of the sneak peek from issue #4 Pat showed us.. Leo and Piper were so sweet in there and generally these scenes are used to make the character's death more dramatic!

Is it possible that Prue's crying because she feels lonely and not because of her tattoo? IMO she didn't even noticed it.

    cyma (Saturday, 13 December 2014 20:47)

Prue doesn't seem like one to cry because of loneliness.

Every human being will cry at a time if it has realized its loneliness.
And Prue often felt lonely. Even in the series. I bet she often had a lump in her throat. Maybe now it's time to lose control...

I think she's crying because of what was written on her arm and not out of loneliness.
