    I think it's Belthazor.

Ha! Cole is....I knew he wasn't dead dead and dead? :-D Seems like Belthazor to me too. Hmm...need more previews. Surprised we got the most spoilrish preview. I was totally okay suffering for a month after issue 4 to find out about Cole. Plus it was fun watching fans freak out :P

I have a feeling it's Belthazor as well. Or at least some variation on Cole.
Like when he dreamed of himself as the Source and spoke to himself. Kind of like that. Some form of his past or subconscious haunting him.

I guess it'll be explained, but I am kind of confused by this. From what Pat has said, I get the impression that the athame has indeed worked how it's supposed to... so if that's the case, I'm not sure I understand how Cole is doing anything. I mean, what is it that's talking if his soul is destroyed? I thought victims of the athame were gone gone; as in: nothing left but a body for the worms.

It is confusing. It could well be what's going on as Cole's soul is being destroyed. The conversation is a bit odd. Whomever the person is that Cole is talking to considers Cole's time without powers (at least it sounds that way) to be when Cole was "at his worst". The clothing could fit with Valen, although there is no logical reason why Cole wouldn't recognize him. One person that I could see Cole almost recognizing, but not quite, is his father, especially if he had no pictures only his memory. Of course we know at least one picture is out there, since Phoebe was shown one, so he probably has located a picture of his dad, especially since this has been on his mind for so long. Another possibility is the Angel of Death. Not sure how the atheme works before it is activated, but perhaps it doesn't take souls before then, so the Angel of Death could still be around in some way or another. As I said above this could be the last remnants of Cole's soul as it is being destroyed.

Good question p3nation maybe this gets explained sometime later on or else the athame didn't totally kill him like we assume. I know in the next year issue Pat explains why even reversing time won't change anything or so he says, And I believe it could be Belthazor that Cole is talking too and this could explain the message one dies and one lives.

@Julie - That's an interesting theory. I'd forgotten about the message on Prue's arm, since we had so little to work with in figuring it out. It could just as easily mean that one of the men Phoebe loves/loved lives and the other one dies, that one of the Turner men lives while the other dies (which would have interesting implications for Benjamin), or something totally unconnected to the current circumstance. Believe me, I don't want Cole to be gone, so I would love for your theory to come true, but I think Pat's working really hard to kill off someone the fans love for good. I don't know if any of you have read Robyn Hood, but yeah, he definitely is willing to kill off characters and not bring them back.

Perhaps it takes a while for a soul to be erased. Judging from the white background, it could be Cole is slowly fading away and looking back at his life as his soul is dying. And maybe that is why he is talking to Belthazor.

Guys you all are wrong you need to think outside the box.

Yeah the shadow figure looks like balthazo|Man but i hope you realize that appearances lie.

Watch its going to be his mother hea talking to.

Why you ask? Easy shes the one who killed his dad raised him to be evil. He has to.conront that

The figure looks too manly to be a woman. Unless Cole's mom is in demon mode.....

If a bit of Belthazor's soul was left in Cole even after Phoebe's potion (and they were one for so long, it's not that big a stretch) and the athame hit them both, it could be that Belthazor and Cole have to fight to pick whose soul is gonna be destroyed. It's unlikely because that would leave the window open for Cole's resurrection and I think Pat is serious about killing people off for good, but it'd fit nicely with the "one wil die, one will rise" thing.

I hope Cole is not gone.

I don't think Cole is dead yet but probably on the verge between life and dead and he's probably seeing everything in his life flash before his eyes or some type of out of body experience.

    Henry (Sunday, 25 January 2015 01:07)

Cole says "I can't think of the name".. I think he's talking to Belthazor but he can't think of the name because he's disappearing.. Maybe it's the way the Athame works

Yeah, I'm definitely saying Belthazor. The shape of the head, the collar, the masculinity.

    Bigbear (Sunday, 25 January 2015 09:58)

Man, I'd love for Belthazor to come back. Without the human part, he'd be a great big bad for the rest of the season.

Yeah, Beltazhor will be back in cole's body. Cole is dead for good, but Beltazhor isn't

Does anybody know if there's a site with a digital BOS?, since I can't buy it online and it doesn't exist on stores, I'd like to have it in PDF at least, if anyone can help I'd be grateful...

PS: I'm still shocked at what happened to Cole.

This is completely hypothetical, because I know it won't happen. But if Cole had lived, I think the best thing for him would have been to move on to his own series. He's a character with enough history and enough potential to carry his own story and I think he would have needed to find an identity that doesn't revolve around one of the sisters.

So Jekyll/ Hyde with the whole Cole and Belthazor soul conflict thing battle.

  • #22

    Bigbear (Wednesday, 28 January 2015 14:14)

I'm hoping this soul battle actually makes them separate entities. The one thing that prevented Belthazor from being the most deadly foe the sister ever faced was Cole's humanity, without conscience or feelings Belthazor would be pretty dangerous.

I like that. The ancient Athama splitting Cole and Belthazor instead of killing.

  • #24

    Lilchi721 (Friday, 30 January 2015 16:45)

What are the odds that both Belthazor and Cole's souls merge?

  • #25

    Pavel Ana (Sunday, 01 February 2015 17:33)

I also think it is Belthazor, by the way it looks. I want to say that I am very upset that Pat killed Cole. Why did he have to do that, I don't understand. I think that the next move is killing Prue because I see that they enjoy killing characters that most people find them interesting. It would be nice if Cole and Belthazor would separate and I really hope they will repair this.

    Mihai (Sunday, 01 February 2015 23:40)

Well why wouldn't it surprise me if they would kill Prue, if Prue at the end of this season will be safe that will be a miracle. I am furious that he killed Cole and I don't understand why did they bring him back if they intended to kill him again? I violently dislike Coop I think if they would have killed Coop they would have managed to make him much more interesting. I also hope that they will bring Cole back but I seriously doubt they will do that because it seems to me that they don't really care what most people want. If I am wrong my apologies. In this image could it be the Source but by the clothing I am 98% sure that it is Belthazor. Oh well that would be new if they bring Cole back as Belthazor and evil. I would be shocked.

We could have a Cole vs. Belthazor battle in the future they didn't something like that with Angel vs. Angelous in Angel.

    Stan (Monday, 02 February 2015 19:36)

Julie that would be nice. I really hope they bring Cole back, but I think that Pavel Ana has a point the next one on the list is Prue. They are evil people.

@ Mihai Some comic book writers kill off characters to gather publicity or to create dramatic tension. Other instances,a writer kills off someone he/she does not like or care about, but upon their leaving the title, another writer who likes this character usually brings them back. More often, however, the publishing house intends to permanently kill off a long-running character, but fan pressure or creative decisions push the company to resurrect the character. Comic book deaths are not taken seriously b/c their often temporary, readers don't often take it seriously when- someone dies, they will eventually be brought back again in some way. Comic Book Death is usually applied when one would normally expect death to be permanent but the character is later resurrected through a plot device not previously established.
